BAY AREA SUPER PRESTIGE RACE

This Sunday Nor-Cal Cyclocross will converge in mass to Candlestick Park in San Francisco for the Bay Area Super Prestige race.  Good Times For Sure!

Candlestick Park, home of the S.F. 49ers, provides an inspiring backdrop for Cross racing.  Motivation to compete at the highest level is always a factor at BASP events.  Having a giant stadium on one side of tthe course, and the beautiful San Francisco bay on the other makes the Candlestick course classic.

The course might be a little bumpy, or dusty in some area's, but this brings character to the route and those who excel in these
conditions will be the riders on the top steps of the
podium when the racing is completed.
Cyclocross racing should be demanding and it should have challenges that force riders to battle through conditions of the day!

It is always important to remember....
Keep the Bay Area Super Prestige races fun!  It can sometimes be easy to get too fired up when racing in big groups on tight routes.  Show consideration to other competitors when engaged and make a point to enjoy the great competition at hand.  Most of all have fun and ride safe!

The Bay Area Super Prestige events are pre-registration.  There is day of registration for the groups that do not fill up.  And for the groups that do fill up there are waiting lists on the day to fill the spots available when pr-reg riders choose not show up.
Ride on...!

LIVERMORE CYCLOCROSS FESTIVAL- NEW COURSE FOR CCCX #3 - SAC. TOWN CROSS

NCNCA Cyclocross is very fortunate to have a great selection of series races- such as Surf City, CCCX, Santa Rosa Cup, Sacramento,
Fresno Homegrown, and Sagebrush.
Equally great are the classic one day events during the season!  One day events transcend and share the love of the sport to each community that hosts these fun filled days of racing and excitement on the Cross bike
One of those very special events takes place this Sunday,

Ted Vidnovic, the President of the Valley Spokesman Racing Team, which is the team behind the very successful Wente Road Race & Criterium, have put forth tremendous effort to make sure the first year version of the Livermore Cyclocross Festival will be a instant classic and a go to event on the NCNCA- Nor-Cal
Cross calendar for years to come...

The Livermore Cyclocross Festival has a full schedule of activities.  The kids race is sure to make for super photos, and most of the divisions line up accordingly for the 2012 NCNCA Fit & Filthy Points Series chase.
The course itself uses the Rodeo Grounds, as well as the large stadium, making for speedy racing on a track that will be demanding and terrific to take on..
Go to support the event & most of all have fun!

Saturday, the day before the Livermore Cyclocross Festival, will be Race #3 of the Central Coast Series- CCCX.  This race will be very special and enchanting as a brand new course, and entirely new area will be mixed into the CCCX rotation of courses for this race.
Consisting of Sand Dunes, Ice Plant, Hard packed Trails, Oak Forest, Single Track, & Fire Roads....
The CSUMB- California State University At Monterey Bay- new course appears to be one of the very best in Northern California if first reviews from the test crews are correct.  Any time a new CCCX course has been introduced to Nor-Cal racers the positive vibes get really flowing for new shredding trails and roads for Cross.  The CSUMB course will not disappoint and the new area for this race seems to be tailor made for
Cyclocross racing!

Also on Sunday is the first race of the Sacramento Cyclocross Series to be held at Vacaville's Lagoon Valley Park.  This event is hosted by Monticello Cycling Club.
Lagoon Valley has a fairly long history of hosting Cyclocross events, even hosting the NCNCA District Championships one year.  The course can be one of the fastest of the season, with long straights and a plethora of wide open dirt roads where big gear is required for
all-out speed.  Yet don't let this description fool you...  There is a chance of elevation gains and hills, and a few of the hill sections can be extremely steep and brutal and make for outstanding Cyclocross racing.  The Sacramento Series, like all the Nor-Cal races,
take great pride & care in putting together
excellent courses and fine race routes.
The Nor-Cal standard of courses is top notch...!
This makes our racers equally top notch!

Giant weekend in store for
NCNCA Cyclocross!
Saturday CCCX
Sunday Livermore Cyclocross Festival
& Sacramento Series #1.

SERIOUS RACING - SERIOUS FUN - WEEK #2 OF NOR-CAL CROSS 2012

2012 Nor-Cal Cyclocross is just getting going, and the going is good as CCCX #2 is main event this Saturday near Monterey.

Cross racing is super serious in Northern California!
Nor-Cal is by far one of the most competitive regions in America for talent in all fields... Men, Women & Juniors.
However, most of all Cross racing is serious fun in Nor-Cal!
So much action in the short duration of the competitions.
So many cards to play during the race, tactics and strategy are one of the key ingredients that make Cyclocross racing so epic.
So much fun when the whistle is blown on the start line and the racing in "Game On"!

Early season Cross racing not only allows racers to develop fitness, strength, bike handling skills, and a competitive edge.  It also provides perfect practice to compile race strategies and winning tactics that come into play each weekend as the season progresses.  Race now, and be rewarded over time from the experiences you gain from the action!

Live life to the fullest!

One special note-
Sam Ames, the host of the very popular Nor-Cal Vs. So-Cal Showdown in Bakersfield has logged his challenge dates on the books with this fun filled festival of fight between North & South taking place Jan. 19/20 at Hart Park.  Cross racing in Bakersfield is top notch and Sam Ames is a gracious host who thrives on the excitement of the chase and the tease of the tussle.  Nor-Cal has always dominated the top divisions at eh showdown- Elite Men, Masters Men, Elite Women, Masters Women, and Juniors.  When the time comes I very much hope the best from Nor-Cal make the trip to Bakersfield and show So-Cal who is boss of Cross in California.  Ride on...!

Great camera angles, solid interview's, excellent action...
Do take time to view this classic video of what Women Of Cyclocross think, feel, and deal with in the heat of competition!

S.S. WORLDS UPADTE-
Most of you have already heard thru the grape vine that..

ROCK LOBSTER vs. CALIFORNIA GIANT BERRY FARMS

LOBSTER'S vs. STRAWBERRY'S

You had better bring you "A" game and top notch skills
if your going to mess with the
Rock Lobster riding duo of Scott Chapin & Aaron Bradford.
Fly or fail against these two champs.

"Kid Kaiser" is no young buck anymore.  California Giant Berry's Cody Kaiser has proven himself to be one of the best and most talented Cyclocross racers in America.

Over the past few years, anyone who has ever dared to get to the front of affairs in Nor-Cal's Men's Elite division Cyclocross races, would only find themselves staring straight into the face of either a Lobster or Strawberry fueled athlete who is primed and motivated to rip opponents legs off and leave any adversary in the
dust at the first moment possible.

The Rock Lobster vs. California Giant Berry Farms racing legacy has owned and controlled the highest steps of the podium's in NCNCA regional races as if their riders names were painted on the floor boarding on the top positions.  The 2012 Lobster vs. Strawberry battle for supremacy is set to resume this Saturday at CCCX #1 near Monterey.  It is "Game On" for NCNCA Cyclocross with September hosting the first races of the year.  And it is guaranteed the
Lobster and Strawberry driven riders will be out honing their
craft & finding top form, and taking on all challengers.

Both teams are riding and  racing toward end of season success at USA Cycling National Championships.  The preparation for this goal only starts now in the local/regional races.

Round #1 is NCNCA Cross in September... Let the games begin.

Scott Chapin is on a mission to get in his best fighting form and racing fitness in order to deliver key victories in the hard fought
Men's Elite division of NCNCA Cyclocross.

Tobin Ortenbald has made huge gains in his style and skill level over the past two Cross seasons.  His strength and speed are now "World Class" in the Cyclocross game and young Ortenblad is one of the very best riders in America for his age.

Aaron Bradford's focus and commitment to Cyclocross has lead to many huge victories and amazing performances the past few years in NCNCA Cross.  2012 is sure to be more of the same...

Justin Robinson is a pure warrior when it comes to
Cyclocross battles.
When push comes to shove in crunch time of NCNCA Cross racing, Robinson usually gets the last forceful push against his competitors!  Justin Robinson could be considered the most consistent
Men's Elite racer over the past decade for Nor-Cal Cross,
and he truly is a legend of the game.

"Top Gun"... Andy Jacques-Maynes had the most dominating season of all Men's Elite riders in Nor-Cal Cross during the 2011 season.  The District Champion for 2011, Jacques Maynes has only lost maybe 2 races locally over the pat 2 seasons, if that!
His record is amazing and if Andy Jacques-Maynes shows up at
regional races, he is the "Top Gun"!... and only a rider who is at
their very, very best stands a chance against him.

Lobster sponsored Mark Howland, shown here on the top step of a CCCX podium, will lead the Rock Lobster Masters Men's Team against the very best Masters Team in America- The California Giant Berry Farms Masters Race Team.

Todd Hoefer is just one of the Giant Berry Farms Masters Men's team riders who can sport a National Championship in his resume.  Most of the Giant Berry Farm Masters Men riders have earned multiple National Championship victories, such as Hoefer and
Alan Coats who is in the process of coming back from
knee surgery in the Cyclocross off season.

Gannon Myall reached his best form ever during 2011, earning podium spots at USA Cycling National Championships and Masters World Championships.  Certainly Myall will ride that wave of success during the upcoming 2012 season.

California Giant regional roster:
Gina Hall
Justin Robinson, Gannon Myall, Todd Hoefer, Ana Flores
Henry Kramer, Alan Coats, John Mundelius, Tao Bernardi
Rob Megian(Buckwheat), Eric Bustos, Norm Kreiss,
Joe Ryan, Frank Curesma,
Juniors
Madeleine Myall, Robbie Farrens, Owen Myall.

Rock Lobster regional roster:
Scott Chapin, Aaron Bradford, Ellen Sherrill, Stella Carey, Aaron Odell, Ben Dodge, Kevin Crossley,Mark Howland, Janel Lodge, Matt Jordan, Kathleen Bortolussi, Natasha Perry.
