NCNCA SCHEDULE NEWS

October is upon us, and NCNCA Cyclocross just keeps getting better!  The CCCX Series event is this Sunday in Monterey, and only builds momentum for the Sacramento Series, the Lion of Fairfax race, the Bay Area Super Prestige Series, the Monkey Cross Series of Santa Rosa, and the Surf City Series.  All highlights of October Cross racing!

The Sacramento races will be hosted by BicyclingEvents.com.  This group is led by Brain Joder.  The excellent work of Joder and his staff have made MTB races like the Praire City Race Series & the Folsom Cyclebration Festival into successful events and I am sure the Cross races his crew will put together will be a great time for all in the State Capitol.  I have personally done the races in Folsom and Prairie City, and the previous controller of the Sac. Town Series- Rich Maile- made a very wise choice in selecting the BicycleEvents.com team to take over the Sacramento races.  Sacramento is a true hot bed for Nor-Cal bicycle racing and Cyclocross is now the go to cycling  discipline for riders of all levels in Sac. Town.

October 16 is the classic one day race- The Lion of Fairfax.  The Lion Returns for 2010 with Big Swingin' Cycles & White Hill Middle School MTB Club playing host for the day.  This event is supported strongly by the White Hill Middle School and the City of Fairfax, and demonstrates how cycling events really can bring the community together.

The highly anticipated opener of the Bay Area Super Prestige Series is set for Oct. 17 at beautiful Merritt College in Oakland.   The B.A.S.P. Series is guaranteed to be off the charts for competitive Cross racing.  Good times will roll, and the B.A.S.P Series is must do Cyclocross.  The Bay Area Super Prestige is the "big show' when it come to Cross racing in Northern California.  Tom and Alec Simpson work their magic to create a race series that is the ultimate test for Cross racers.  The fields are huge and for 2010 they will be running a chip timing system that is mounted to each riders helmet.  The B.A.S.P. races are BIG! And there is always a chance that some of very best racers in America just might turn up for the any one of the S.F. based races, which makes for awesome viewing.  One thing you can always count on is action awaits at the B.A.S.P. events!

October 23 is the first race of Monkey Cross in Santa RosaThe CXSR Series is backed very strong by the Santa Rosa City Parks!  This is something that every city parks department in America should do, and it is great to see the City of Santa Rosa understanding that Cyclocross brings the community together.  Monkey Cross is good times, good fun, and good racing for all!  I enjoyed my time competing at the Monkey Cross races in the past, and I am sure Carlos Perez- the creator of Monkey Cross will have a few surprises in store for NCNCA racers for his 2010 series.

October 31 is Halloween, and this will be extra special for NCNCA Cyclocross as the Surf City Series is on schedule for their Halloween Classic Costume race, which also serves as race #1 of the Surf City Series.  If you have not made it to a Halloween theme Cyclocross race your definitely missing out on one of the best events of Northern California Cross!  Team Santa Cruz has hinted that information will be out soon for their Surf City Series.  The Halloween Cross on Oct. 31 is pure fun, mixed in with some fast Cross racing.  Bring a camera or video recording device, because Nor-Cal does Halloween Cyclocross on a higher level then anywhere in the world!  You need to see it to believe it!

Northern California is very fortunate to have such amazing races!  All the promoters work extra hard with the main goal of a great time at the races for each and every person.  If you see a promoter, tell them thanks!

Cross racing in Nor-Cal is in gear!
